This is my 5th year at East. Prior to coming to East I enjoyed my 18 years at Thomas Jefferson High School. I've had just about every kind of restaurant job you could think of, worked on construction sites for a summer, painted houses, etc, worked at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival in costume, translated, interpreted, tutored at CU-Denver, taught ESL to immigrants, and was a tour guide for exchange students with Spring International. While in Europe I worked for an African Art gallery in Barcelona and Brussels. I've traveled, lived, worked and played in over 35 countries on five continents. In 2014 I led my first trip to France at East and followed up with another in 2016, my 10th. I have facilitated summer home-stay exchange programs for six of the last eight summers here in Denver. Over the past several years I've been working with the DPS World Language Curriculum and Assessment Team and am a regional World Language specialist. I am currently chair of the World Languages Department. I coach, present and train in state, nationally and internationally. I am the CCFLT 2018 Teacher of the Year.
